The composition includes: weapons and navigation instruments; a globe (showing America and the Pacific Ocean); exotic fruits; a pair of compasses; a chest filled with coins; playing-cards; a guitar; an anchor, and a snare drum and trumpet. In the background soldiers playing cards, with a bay populated with ships in the distance.
