A collection of early lithographs, rare complete, originally priced at 7s 6d. The plates are: Aberdylis, Vale of Neath; Melincourt, Vale of Neath; Yscwd yr Rhyd In the grounds of W: Williams Esq.r; Yscwd Inon Cam Vale of Neath; Entrance to Porth yr Ogof Caveer, Vale of Neath. Kil Hepsti, Vale of Neath. George Orleans Delamotte ( 1809 - 1821; fl.), artist and teacher, son of a French refugee. His brother was William Alfred Delamotte (1775-1863), drawing-master at the Sandhurst Military Academy, whose son Philip was a photography pioneer known for his series on the disassembly of the Crystal Palace in Hyde Park and its reconstruction in Sydenham.

A half-length portrait of a young boy within a stonework window with a curtain. Challoner Smith identifies the boy as the son of Lieutenant-General William Skinner (1700-80), Chief Royal Engineer from 1757 until his death); however General Skinner's only son, Captain William Campbell, was killed on Dominica in 1761. It is probable that this is a grandson: a William Campbell Skinner, captain of the Royal Engineers, was killed in 1787.

Made for the Zoological Society of London, from animals in their vivarium, in the Regent's Park', issued in two parts, 1861 and 1867. Joseph Wolf (1820-99), a German artist, specialized in natural history illustration, and is considered one of the great pioneers of wildlife art, having depicted animals accurately in lifelike postures. He worked with John Gould on 'The Birds of Great Britain'. Sir Edwin Landseer considered him 'without exception, the best all-round animal artist who ever lived'.

A view depicting figures within a rocky landscape, with columns of rocks in the foreground and at the base of a cliff to the left. A stretch of sea is in the background with mountains in the distance. From William Daniell's 'A Voyage Round Great Britain', a series of 308 aquatints published in eight volumes between 1814-1825, described by R.V. Tooley as 'the most important colour plate book on British Topography'.

'Boz', Queen Victoria's skye terrier, with a rabbit. Boz was named after Charles Dickens' early pseudonym. He was purchased by Victoria a a present for her mother, the Duchess of Kent, in 1857, but joined the Royal houshold when the Duchess died in 1861. The original painting was exhibited at the British Institution in 1865 and now hangs at Osborne House, the Royal Residence on the Isle of Wight. An old Skye terrier given to the Queen by H.R.H. Prince Albert, on May 24.th 1842. The name Dandie Dinmont came from a character in Sir Walter Scott's 'Guy Mannering', this name was later given to the breed of dog now known as Dandie dinmonts. The original picture belongs to Her Majesty the Queen, and hangs at Osborne. Exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1854. Half-length portrait of John ‘Jack’ Slack (c.1721-68), aka the ‘Norfolk Butcher’ or ‘Knight of the Cleaver’. A bare knuckle fighter, he was the first boxer to beat Jack Broughton (a fight on which it is rumoured the Duke of Cumberland lost £1,000); and in 1754 he beat Frenchman Jean Pettit, winning what is regarded to be the first international Heavyweight fight. A portrait of a slaughterman standing next to a dead cow, his hands resting on a large hammer. From 'The Costume of Great Britain', a book containing 60 plates of people at work and scenes of everyday life. William Henry Pyne (1769-1843), the son of a London weaver who became an artist and writer, was commissioned to write and illustrate the book by the publisher, William Miller of Albermarle Street, London. The illustrations are particularly notable as they portray British life on the eve of the Industrial Revolution.

Published in the monumental folio edition of 'Egypt & Nubia: from drawings made on the spot' by David Roberts (1796 - 1864), lithographed by Louis Haghe. This example comes from the library of Sir Richard Hungerford Pollen (1815-81), 3rd Baronet of Redenham, an amateur artist listed as a subscriber to this work. However this is not a hand-coloured subscription plate but is still an early printing, one issued in wrappered parts prior to the bound First Edition.
