A portrait of Bonaventure Peeters (1614-1652), who was recognised as a leading marine painter by his contemporaries. This is one of nine portraits etched by Hollar, when in Antwerp, for a collection of portraits published there by Meyssens in 1649 under the title 'Image de divers hommes desprit sublime'. Peeters was based in Antwerp and this etching is taken from a portrait by the publisher himself. Below the portrait is a biographical note, as Pennington notes, 'in execrable French'.

Herbert Thomas Dicksee (1862-1942) was an English painter who specialised in paintings of dogs and animals. He studied at the Slade School of Art and his first painting was exhibited in 1881. His paintings were usually done from life; he kept numerous dogs as pets and frequented London Zoo. His daughter, Dorothy was the executor of his will, which directed her to destroy most of the plates for his etchings.

Portrait of the 4th Duke of Newcastle, three-quarter length standing in Garter robes and hand on pommel of sword. Henry Pelham Pelham-Clinton, 4th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne (1785-1851), politician who played a leading part in British politics in the late 1820s and early 1830s. According to the BM, this plate was never completed, and is known throgh three working proofs, of which two are in the BM.

Three-quarter length portrait of Thomas Pelham-Holles, Duke of Newcastle (1693-1768). Looking towards the viewer, wearing a long wig, robes, with a wand in his right hand. Below a crest with the mottoes 'Vicit Amor Patria' and 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense'. In 1711 inherited the enormous wealth of his uncle John Holles, 1st Duke of Newcastle whose surname he took. Created Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1715 as a reward for his support of the Hanoverian cause at the time of the first Jacobite rebellion. Held political office almost continuously from 1724. First Lord of the Treasury (Prime Minister), 1754-56 and 1757-62, and Lord Privy Seal 1765-66.

A pelican, drawn, engraved and coloured by Johann Conrad Susemihl (1767-1847) for his 'Teutsche Ornithologie oder Naturgeschichte aller Vögel Teutschlands in naturgetreuen Abbildungen und Beschreibungen', produced in collaboration with his brother, Johann Theodore, and later his son, Eduard. The 'Teutsche Ornithologie' was an attempt to produce a German equivalent to the works of Levaillant and Barraband.

Portrait of Aimable Jean Jacques Pélissier, 1st Duc de Malakoff (1794-1864), maréchal of France. On 16 May 1855 he succeeded Marshal Canrobert as commander-in-chief of the French forces before the Siege of Sevastopol, during the Crimean War. His storming of the Tower of Malakoff on 8 September marked the successful end of the Siege of Sebastopol, crowing the Anglo-French Crimean War against Russia with victory; he was thus promoted to Marshal of France and was named a senator. His title 'Duc de Malakoff' was awarded personally by Napoleon III. A commemorative publication printed shortly after hostilities had ceased. From March 1858 to May 1859 Pelissier was French ambassador in London.

Thomas Pellett (c.1671-1744), physician. A resident of Covent Garden (he was buried in the churchyard of St Paul's, Covent Garden), Pellett was a fellow of the Royal Society and Royal College of Physicians. This engraving is done from a 1737 portrait by Swedish painter Michael Dahl in the Royal College of Physicians. The engraving shows various changes from the oil painting, most notably on the right where a classical bust has been inserted. Pellett was also painted by Hogarth.
