The intrigues of Agrippa to displace Nero and to elevate Britannicus, the son of Claudius, led to Nero’s first domestic tragedy—the poisoning of Britannicus. The painting hangs at Windsor Castle with the title Caligula depositing the ashes of his mother and brother in the tomb of his ancestors. "The Most Capital Paintings in England" series of engravings in five volumes, late 1760s-1786, the first three (1769 to 1773) originally published under the title .Sculptura Britannica. These were a critical and financial success for the publisher John Boydell who promoted the interests of both artists, engravers and Patrons establishing a tradition in Britain for collecting prints.

She studied with Professor Leopold Jansa (1795-1875), and made her first public appearance as a violinist in Vienna at the age of seven, playing one of Bach's Violin Sonatas. Between 1888 and 1896 the firm of Walery issued a remarkable series of portraits entitled 'Our Celebrities' which were published as a monthly issues by the publisher Sampson, Low & Co., together with biographical text on the subjects. The part works subsequently became available as bound volumes.

Caught in local unrest he saved a corn merchant from being lynched for sending his flour to Paris. The Paris Commune summoned him to Paris and presented him with a uniform sword of the national guard and placed a civic crown on his head. During the course of his career he served with Edward Pellew, Admiral Duncan at Camperdown and Sir George Cockburn at the capture of Martinique (from the French). Sentimental paintings of children were extremely popular with Victorian audiences. Critics often dismissed such pictures as intellectually undemanding, yet some of the most important artists of the day took up the subject. The emotion of these pictures centre on a new, 19th century conception of childhood as an innocent, separate state to be shielded and prolonged.

Double portrait of Frederick Henry, Prince of Orange (1584 - 1647) standing, and Amalia van Solms, Princess of Orange (1602 - 1675) seated to left. They are placed in an interior with a parrot on a bar across the top of an arched window behind the princess, and a little toy dog at the prince's feet. After Jacob Jordaens (1593 - 1678), painter and etcher in Antwerp. Frederick Henry was son of William the Silent, the principal leader of the Dutch struggle for indendence against Spain. When his half-brother, Maurice Prince of Orange, died in 1625, Frederick became the third hereditary stadholder of the United Dutch Provinces. He married a lady-in-waiting to the exiled Queen of Bohemia, and their son, William II, married in 1641 Mary, the daughter of Charles I of Great Britain. The Dutch Wars against the Spanish continued until the end of his reign. Shortly following his death in January 1648, peace was formally declared between the two countries. With a crest bearing the motto 'Cavendo Tutus', and dimensions of the original painting lower left.

After Jacob Jordaens (1593 - 1678), painter and etcher in Antwerp. Frederick Henry was son of William the Silent, the principal leader of the Dutch struggle for indendence against Spain. When his half-brother, Maurice Prince of Orange, died in 1625, Frederick became the third hereditary stadholder of the United Dutch Provinces. He married a lady-in-waiting to the exiled Queen of Bohemia, and their son, William II, married in 1641 Mary, the daughter of Charles I of Great Britain. The Dutch Wars against the Spanish continued until the end of his reign. Shortly following his death in January 1648, peace was formally declared between the two countries. With a crest bearing the motto 'Cavendo Tutus', and dimensions of the original painting lower left.

He was a member of the National Assembly (1796 - 1798) and belonged to the moderate unitarians, who were advocates of a central government. He was president of the National Assembly and acting head of state of the Batavian Republic between 17 May 1796 and 30 May 1796 and between 15 May 1797 and 29 May 1797. He was the Batavian (Dutch) ambassador to France between 1798 and 1801 and from 1803 to 1805 and the Batavian ambassador to Great Britain in 1802 and 1803. Napoleon made him the sole ruler of the Batavian Republic with the title of Raadspensionaris ('Grand Pensionary') and he ruled for one year from 1805. He had no employment between 1806 and 1811. The Netherlands became a part of France in 1810 and Schimmelpenninck was a member of the French senate between 1811 and 1813. He was a member of the senate of the Kingdom of the United Netherlands between 1815 and 1820.

Ludolph Smids (1649-1720) was a Dutch physician, antiquarian and poet. He studied medicine at Leiden University from 1670. In 1685 after his second marriage he moved to Amsterdam where he published his 'Schatkamer der Nederlandsche Oudheden', a description of Dutch treasury detailing ancient castles and ruins, with 60 engravings by Jacobus Schijnvoet (1685-1733).

After the war William became in 1813 became King William I of the Netherlands, the founder of the present Dutch monarchy.
