Men play Morra in the foreground; fish vendor behind with others drinking and chatting. Morra is a traditional game very popular in Italy, particularly in the regions bordering the Mediterranean. The game consists of guessing the sum of the numbers that are shown by the players' fingers. Simultaneously the two players stretch their arms showing their fist or spreading a number of fingers of their choice, while shouting (as if to intimidate the opponent) a number from two to ten (the "punch" is equivalent to one and ten is also called proper "morra") generally in the local language , sometimes crippled with very colourful expressions that vary from region to region.

A view of Naples, looking across the bay towards a smoking Vesuvius. Photographer Robert Rive (1817-68) was born in Breslau from a French Huguenot family, but was active in Italy from the 1850s with his younger brother Julius. In the mid 1860s he started using the more Italian 'Roberto'. Although he travelled around the county he had a studio in Naples. After Robert's death Julius continued the firm without changing the name.

They include crowd watching a Punch and Judy show, a religious procession with icon commemorating the Holy Virgin, a water-seller and soldier refreshing, a barber, roast chestnut seller, and a tambourine-seller. Hfalmar Mörner (1794 - 1837) was a Swedish count and amateur etcher; in Rome 1816-28.

An uncut sheet of 16 portraits of Napoleon and his family, designed to be folded and cut for an 8vo book, with one portrait per page. Thus half the portraits are printed upside down on this sheet. The other members of the family are: his wives Josephine & Marie Louisa and son Napoleon II; his parents Charles & Letitia and uncle Cardinal Fesch; his siblings Joseph, Louis, Lucien, Jerome, Eliza, Pauline and Caroline; and sister-in-law Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, queen of Prussia. The outsider in the collection is Count Metternich who, despite facilitating the marriange of Napoleon to Maria Louisa, did much to rally the Allied opposition to him.

A satirical scene showing a large snake, who represents Napoleon and the French, being hung from a gibbet carved with the names of the Allies (though Prussia is missing). The gibbet is supported by a oak tree representing England, while the English lion bites and claws at the snake's tail.

It depicts Napoleon's aides on St Helena, Generals Charles-Tristan Montholon (1783-1853) and Henri-Gatien Bertrand (1773-1844), with Bertrand's family, consoling one another, watched by ghostly figures from Napoleon's armies and Sultan Selim III of Egypt. St Helena is depicted as a rock in a stormy sea, with wreckage representing Napoleon's victories in the sea. Napoleon's grave is adorned with his bicorne hat and sword. The painting was first engraved by Jazet in 1822 with the title 'Le Songe de Bertrand'.

A satirical scene depicting five key British Cabinet members asleep around a table. The table is covered with drink, and the ministers; William, 3rd Duke of Portland, Robert Banks Jenkinson, Spencer Perceval, Robert Stewart, and George Canning are portrayed as physically and mentally disengaged, lost in a shared dream. Their dream, floating above them in clouds, shows Britannia victorious in a chariot, with a chained and defeated Napoleon, subdued Russia, and other captive monarchs, followed by cheering crowds under a tattered Union Jack.
