Portrait of Nicolas Isouard (1773 - 1818), Maltese-born French composer. He moved to Paris, where he worked as a free composer and became friends with Rodolphe Kreutzer. The pair worked together on several operas, including Le Petit page, ou La Prison d'état (1800) and Flaminius à Corinthe (1801). Isouard adopted the pseudonym Nicolò (or Nicolò de Malte) and found rapid success in the field of opéra comique with Michel-Ange (1802) and L'Intrigue aux fenêtres (1805). He composed regularly for the Théâtre de l'Opéra-Comique, writing some thirty works for it. He composed masses, motets, cantatas, romances, and duos, along with over 45 operas.

The twelve tribes of Israel with the Tabernacle of Moses at the centre. The tabernacle was first erected in the wilderness exactly one year after the Passover when the Israelites were freed from their Egyptian slavery (c.1450 B.C.). It was a mobile tent with portable furniture that the people travelled with and set up wherever they pitched camp. A collection of the first four parts of the 'Fragments' (Five & Six related to Naples and Herculanum, with 60 more plates), containing sketches mostly by Fragonard after paintings by Michaelangelo. Raphael, Carrachi and others. The plates were etched in aquatint by Jean-Claude Richard, abbé de Saint-Non, an early use of the technique.

The 'Italian boy', Carlo Ferrari posing with his monkey. In December of 1831, Williams, Bishop and May were found guilty of the murder of this Italian boy in order to sell his body to anatomy professors at King's College, when the criminal trade of procuring bodies for this purpose was at its height. The case of Carlo Ferrari aroused great public interest, resulting in many prints being published depicting the victim and murderers.

Three figures in the centr by a waterfall and stream, trees to left, behind a plume of smoke rises from a building in the hill town with in the distance; sea and mountains beyond. Engraved in 1781-82 by Giuseppe Cunego (Italian, 1760 - 1782 after), Draughtsman and reproductive engraver. Giuseppe (Joseph) Cunego did engrave a set of scene from the Frescoes by Gaspar (Poussin) Dughet in the Palazzo Colonna Rome. While this may be similar it is not thought to be part of that set.

A street puppet show, with the main character the traditional 'Pulcinella' (Punchinello or Punch), with his wife 'Joan', later Judy. In the audience a fish-wife drops fish from her basket, distracted by the show. This appears to be from a series of acts or amusements making headlines in the mid-1780s.

The Corona Ferrea, or Corona del Ferro (Iron Crown) was used until the 19th century to crown Kings of Italy and Holy Roman Emperors. Tradition has it that it was forged with the iron of one of the nails that were used in the crucifixion of Jesus. The crown is venerated as a relic, and is kept in the cathedral of Monza, in the Lombardy region of Italy. Published for the cathedral library at Monza, possibly from a larger print or broadside.

Three figures in the centr by a waterfall and stream, trees to left, behind a plume of smoke rises from a building in the hill town with in the distance; sea and mountains beyond. Engraved in 1781-82 by Giuseppe Cunego (Italian, 1760 - 1782 after), Draughtsman and reproductive engraver. Giuseppe (Joseph) Cunego did engrave a set of scene from the Frescoes by Gaspar (Poussin) Dughet in the Palazzo Colonna Rome. While this may be similar it is not thought to be part of that set.
