Whitenose, son of the famous Godolphin Arabian. His daughter Cassandra was sent to Virginia carrying the filly Stella (1764, by Shakespeare) in-utero; Stella was the dam of an early noted American stallion (Harris') Eclipse, an important horse in the continent's thoroughbred bloodline. Published in "12 Portraits of Racehorses", engraved by Richard Houston after Thomas Spencer and James Seymour. Under the picture are details of the horse's pedigree
