A special chelengk, a diamond-encrusted Ottoman military decoration, presented to Admiral Nelson by Sultan Selim III in honour of the Battle of the Nile in 1798. Lemuel Francis Abbott painted Nelson in uniform with the chelengk in his hat, but again probably had not seen it.
