Sir Francis Grant RA (1803-1878) was a Scottish artist who served as President of the Royal Academy. He eventually established himself as a highly sought-after portrait painter and his subjects included Queen Victoria, Lord Palmerston, Benjamin Disraeli, Algernon Percy and Prince Albert.

Engraved from a painting by Thomas Lawrence, President of the Royal Academy and the pre-eminent portrait painter of his generation.
