Beau Parc, County Meath, built in the 1770s possibly by amateur architect Nataniel Clements. This plate was engraved by Thomas Milton after Thomas Roberts (1748-78) and issued in the third installment (of six) of Milton's 'A Collection of Select Views from the different Seats of the Nobility and Gentry in the Kingdom of Ireland', published 1783-93, with a total of 24 plates. Milton (1743-1827), son of marine painter John Milton, is believed to have been a pupil of William Woollett. He later worked on Boydell's Shakespeare series and aquatinted some of Luigi Meyer's views of Egypt.

Caernarvon is a small, well built Town, standing at the Bottom of a Bay, on the Firth or Inlet call’d Meneu, dividing the Isle of Anglesea from the Main Land, Twas founded by Edward I, who also built a Castle here to curd the wild People of the Mountains. That Monarch often kept his Counrt in Caernarvon, & here was born his Son & Successor Edward II, who was the first Prince of Wales. Here us’d to be kept the Chancery & Exchequer of the Princes of Wales, for the north part of the Principality. Caernarvon wou’d be a Town of good Trade, was the Country round it able to make a proper Consumption Tis the capital of the County call’d from its Name. 68.

View of the buildings at Chelsea, next to the Thames; a man on a raft in foreground, other figures by riverbank. The Chelsea Waterworks Company was formed in 1723 (where the Churchill Gardens estate, Pimlico now stands), and supplied water to Westminster and adjacent parts. It introduced the first iron main in London in 1746. The company held water in reservoirs in Hyde Park and Green Park and pumped water through an elaborate sysstems of canals which covered a large area of today's Pimlico. As the years marched by the water was becoming more and more contaminated and the Company installed the first Sand filtration operation to purify the water. Eventurally in the late nineteenth century the company became part of the Metropolitan Water Board. From "A Collection of One Hundred Views In England and Wales". This Castle, with its Towers, are very white, & look nobly at a Distance; but being all in ruins, serve only to shew what Wales was, when govern’d by its own Princes. The Town of Conway, at a miles distance, has a most delightful Effect on ye Eye. It stands on the Side of a Hill, on the Banks of an Arm of the Sea, broad as the river Thames at London. A very fine Harbour, (was there occasion,) might be built at Conway. [70 in ink]

Four views of the seats of the nobility of Ireland, engraved by Thomas Milton after Francis Wheatley (three including one attributed to William Pars on the plate) and J. J. Barralet. This is the fourth installment of six, published between 1783 and 1793, with a total of 24 plates. Milton (1743-1827), son of marine painter John Milton, is believed to have been a pupil of William Woollett. He later worked on Boydell's Shakespeare series and aquatinted some of Luigi Meyer's views of Egypt.

Rhuddlan Castle is so call’d from the reddish Banks of the River Cluid on which it stands It is almost decay’d thro’ Age, and was built by a Welsh Prince, Tho. Rhuddlan is now a mean Village, it appears to have once been a considerable Town; from the Footsteps of an Abbey, an Hospital and a Gate half a mile from the Village. Anne Dom 794, a great Battle was fought here, between a King of Mercia, and another of Wales. [71 in ink]
