A full-length sketch portrait of Bruce Pearce of Tasmania, a left-hander who reached the last eight in the British amateur championships in 1911. It was produced for publication in 'Country Life', the name & 'C Life' among the pencil annotations on the reverse. Charles Napier Ambrose (1876 - 1946), illustrator & journalist for sporting magazines, including 'Lawn Tennis and Badminton Magazine', 'Fry's Magazine', The Tatler, The Field, Country Life, Golf Illustrated & Golf Monthly.
