Weighing in at four tons, it is decorated with tritons and cherubs, with side panels painted by Giovanni Battista Cipriani (not shown here). Quotes from its passengers include: 'tossing in a rough sea' (William IV); 'distressing oscillation' (Victoria); 'one of the most uncomfortable rides I have ever had in my life' (George VI) 'horrible' and 'not very comfortable' (Elizabeth II). A full length portrait of John Ireland (1761-1842), dressed for the coronation of George IV. From Sir G. Nayler's "The Coronation of His Most Sacred Majesty King George the Fourth, solemnized in the Collegiate Church of Saint Peter Westminster upon the Nineteenth Day of July MDCCCXXI". Nayler only published two of the five proposed parts (1823 & 1827); it was completed by George Henry Bohn and issued in 1837.

Lithograph with superb hand colour, J. Whatman 1827 watermark. Printed area 390 x 240mm (15¼ x 9¼"), with very large margins. Sellotape stain in upper right margin.
A full length portrait of Roger Monk (d.1831) in the Tudor-style uniform of the Yeoman of the Guard (Beefeaters). A London businessman, he purchased a commission in the Guards, becoming Exon (equivalent to Corporal but in the Elizabethan meaning of a commissioned officer, similar to a captain) in 1805, holding the position until his death. Monk's uniform cost over £300 and was the last of its kind to be made for officers, being too expensive for the few ceremonial occasions for its use. Monk commissioned this oil, which now hangs in the hall of the Tallow Chandlers' Company, of which Monk had been master in 1826.

A very rare souvenir handkerchief commemorating the coronation of George V. Within a border of flags and leaves are portraits of George and Queen Mary, the Prince of Wales (Edward VIII), and figures prominent in the ceremony, including the old soldier Earl Roberts. The text gives an order of events and a list of 'The Bearers of the Kings' Regalia. Mrs S. Burgess specialised in these paper souvenirs in the early 20th century, based in York Place, off The Strand; proof-reading was not her strong point.

In 1911, the same year as the coronation, Bloom photographed the progress of the Sidney Street Siege, making postcards for boys to sell to queues outside West End Theatres, the most popular one being a portrait of Winston Churchill. The firm folded in the 1930s.
