Sir James Edward Smith (1759-1828), botanist, aged four. Etched after a drawing by Thomas Worlidge (1700-66) 'the English Rembrandt', by 'Mrs. D. Turner'. Smith was the first president of the Linnaean Society and his works included 'The English Flora' (1824-5).
