Two fish battling. From a series of twenty-six prints depicted two animals fighting each other. By Antonio Tempesta (c.1555-1630) painter, draughtsman, and etcher from Florence, he was a pupil of Stradanus. He was active in Rome around 1580, with his earliest dated prints appearing in 1589. Published by Nicolas van Aelst (c.1550's- 1613) engraver, printer, print dealer and print publisher, from Brussels, working in Rome.

Nuño Salido (on the right) warns the Seven Infantes against going to war. Athena, Greek goddess of warfare on the right. Plate twenty from a set of forty depicting the legend of the Infantes of Lara, who lived in the tenth century, and which relates how these seven brothers were betrayed by their uncle and slain by the Moors but were afterwards avenged by their half-brother, the Bastard Mudarra, son of the Lord of Lara and a Moorish lady.
