A satirical scene depicting a Billingsgate fishwoman thrusting a fish in the face of a macaroni who is about to draw his sword in reaction, while another woman, leaning out of the window of a grog shop behind them, is cutting off his long queue. Meanwhile, the macaroni's pet dog steals a fish from the fishwoman's basket

A tromp l'oeil depicting framed medallion portraits of Wesleyan preacher Thomas Maxfield (1724-84), his wife, Elizabeth Branford, and thirteen children, all with their year of birth, with an empty frame bottom right. Maxfield was converted in 1739 by George Whitefield and acted as a sub-pastor to Wesley but broke away from the Methodists in 1763 over his sympathy for the views of the visionary George Bell.

A portrait of barrister and politician John Scott (1751-1838) in lawyer's wig and gown, pictured before he became 1st Earl of Eldon (1799) and his terms as Lord Chancellor (1801-6 and 1807-27). The portrait probably celebrates his appointment as solicitor-general in 1788, when he was knighted. The slip shows Scott gave the portrait to Davidson.
