Robert Palmer (1793-1872), Tory MP for Berkshire 1825-31. He was a magistrate in 1815 and High Sheriff of Berkshire in 1818. In his will he endowed 'Robert Palmer's Almshouse Charity,' which remains active today.

A full-length portrait of Captain Sir William Peel (1824-1858, son of Prime Minister Robert Peel), in action in India, with sailors priming a cannon. Peel won the Victoria Cross during the Crimean War. During the India Mutiny he was wounded at the Relief of Lucknow, but died of smallpox at Cawnpore. Ex: collection of The Hon. Christopher Lennox-Boyd.
