Portrait of Dorothy before her marriage to Sir William Brownlow, 4th Baronet (1665–1701) in July 1688. She was the daughter and heir of Sir Richard Mason (1633–85), a politician and courtier to Charles II who owned estates at Bishop's Castle, Salop and Sutton Surrey. Three-quarter length portrait of Sir Herbert Benjamin Edwardes, DCL, KCSI, KCB (1819-1868), dressed as an Indian nobleman. Edwardes was a British administrator, soldier, and statesman who served in the Punjab region of British India. He is best known as the “Hero of Multan” for his pivotal role in the British victory during the Second Anglo-Sikh War.
The oil painting by Henry Mosely is in the National Portrait Gallery, London.

Eng and Chang Bunker (1811-1874), conjoined Siamese twins, shown here with chess and badminton equipment. When the boys were 17, they joined the Scottish merchant Robert Hunter, who managed a tour in which they displayed themselves, and were examined by doctors across the United States and Europe. In 1832 they realised that their new manager, Captain Coffin, was taking most of their profits, and made a separate arrangement with the circus owner Phineas T Barnum, with whom they toured until 1839.
