A historic Cape Dutch homestead on the Rhone estate in the Groot Drakenstein valley of the western Cape, South Africa. The original copper plates for these Cape views were etched by the British artist Hilda Pemberton (1880-1956) during her time in South Africa. The signature André Naudé was actually a commercial pseudonym used by Cape Town Art dealer Louis Woolf. During the early 1930's Woolf reissued prints from Pemberton's plates under his Afrikaans sounding name to make them more marketable to local buyers.
