A Continental bagpiper, leaning against a tree, a copy of the 1514 engraving by Albrecht Dürer. This print is unusual as having female engraver (Eliza Smith, daughter of J.R. Smith) and publisher. See BM E,2.142 for Dürer's original engraving. Smith is not listed in Alexander's Dictionary of Engravers.

A young Dutchman playing a violin in an interior, a lute hanging on the wall behind. On the table is a small loaf of bread and a jug. The monogram, that of Thomas Blayds (1795-1849), a banker of Surrey, was identified in 1977. The British Museum has antiquities and drawings from his collection. CS 159, ii of ii.
