A half-length portrait of Benjamin Aislabie (1774-1842), placing a book, ''M.C.C. Subscribers to Matches'', on a table, engraved by Dawe from his own painting of 1838 (still in the collection of the M.C.C.). A wine merchant and cricket administrator, Aislabie joined the Marylebone Cricket Club in 1802, becoming President in 1823 & acting as secretary from 1822 until his death. A large man, he averaged 3.15 runs in over 100 innings, taking only eight wickets, 1808-41. Towards the end of his careet he needed a substitute not only to run for him when batting but also to field. Despite his lack of skill he was very popular. In 1841, he took the MCC team to Rugby for the match celebrated in 'Tom Brown's School Days' by Thomas Hughes.

Bernard James Tindal Bosanquet (1877-1836), English cricketer best known for inventing the googly, a delivery designed to deceive the batsman. Leonard Charles Braund [1875-1955], England, London County, Somerset, Surrey Right-hand bat. ACT:Born in Leytonstone, Essex, in 1862 to a legal family, Albert Chevallier Tayler won a scholarship to the Slade School when he was 17. He prints date from the same period as his commissioned by Kent County Cricket Club to paint what has now become his most famous painting of 'Kent Vs. Lancashire'. In his career he exhibited 49 paintings in total at the Academy, and he was also the Honorary Secretary of the Royal British Colonial Society of Artists. Albert Chevallier Tayler died in 1928.

A sporting scene featuring a cricket match and horse race. The Bullingdon Club was founded over 200 years ago, and by 1875 it was considered "an old Oxford institution, with many good traditions". Originally it was a hunting and cricket club. In 1805 cricket at Oxford University "was confined to the old Bullingdon Club, which was expensive and exclusive". This foundational sporting purpose is attested to in the Club's crest. Printed locally by James Ryman (1840 - 1856; fl.), print publisher.

Four cricket ephemera items for Carshalton Cricket Club, Beddington. Probably a unique collection of cricket ephemera. An invitation published August 28th, 1856, detailing the events of a Harvest Festival to be celebrated on September 2nd, 1858. Starting with a service at the Parish church, 'at half-past two o'clock a dinner will be provided for the labourers and their wives in the National School Room; after which a cricket match will be played in the rectory field'. On the inside right-hand page of the invitation is the Hymn for Harvest. Two 'Carshalton Cricket Club' cards, one showing the matches for the year 1855, and the other for the year 1859. Lastly, two letters, one letter dated August 2nd 1855, from the Hon. Secretary of Carshalton Cricket Club, requesting a cricketer to play at a match commencing at 10:30 o'Clock, on August 8th 1855. The letter attached, is dated May 7th 1855, and informs a player that the club will meet for practice on Wednesday, May 16th, and every Wednesday of the season commencing.

An very early cricket print, showing a game at the Artillery Ground in Finsbury belonging to the Honourable Artillery Company. The bat is curved; the wicket only has two stumps; and the bowling is underarm. This is a copy of a 1743 engraving by Antoine Benoist after a painting by Francis Hayman, one of twelve sporting pictures designed to decorate supper boxes at Vauxhall Gardens, and is now hanging at Lord's. The wicket keeper is said to be William Hogarth.
