A proof of the first of a rare set of twelve views engraved by Charles Turner for 'Wellington's Campaigns in Spain and Portugal'. During the Peninsular Wars, Wellington led the attack against the French in Portugal and Spain and in 1811 his services and victories were duly noted with his promotion to full general.
