Trimmed into image on three sides, into inscription at bottom, losing publisher's name, repair lower left with loss of text. Blank, the horse of General Peregrine Bertie (1714-1778), 3rd Duke of Ancaster and Kesteven. He was Master of the Horse from 1766 to 1778 and from 1765 for a year he held the position of Master of the Horse to Queen Charlotte. All matters connected with the horses of the sovereign, the stables, the coach houses, the stud, mews were all within his jurisdiction. This plate was originally published in 1757; in this state the plate was cut down and the inscriptions re-engraved.
