Pelham Francis Warner, 'Plum' [1873-1963] the Grand Old Man of English cricket, touring New Zealand, Australia, and Sout Africa and was Captain of Middlesex by 1908. ACT:Born in Leytonstone, Essex, in 1862 to a legal family, Albert Chevallier Tayler won a scholarship to the Slade School when he was 17. He prints date from the same period as his commissioned by Kent County Cricket Club to paint what has now become his most famous painting of 'Kent Vs. Lancashire'. In his career he exhibited 49 paintings in total at the Academy, and he was also the Honorary Secretary of the Royal British Colonial Society of Artists. Albert Chevallier Tayler died in 1928.

Edward Wynyard was an all-round sportsman who earned an international football cap and could reportedly cut 'very beautiful figures on ice'. He was captain of the Hampshire Cricket Club and a Captain of the Welsh Regiment. His best scoring, which included three successive centuries,- a then unparalleled achievement in County matches,- was one of the incidents of that cricket season.

Edward George Wynyard (1861-1936) the British army officer and English cricketer who played in 3 Tests from 1896 to 1906. He captained Hampshire County Cricket Club between 1896 and 1899. As an army officer he first saw service in the Burma Expedition 1885-87, winning the Distinguished Service Order and being promoted to Captain. Albert Chevallier Tayler (1862-1925), the English artist who specialised in portrait and genre painting. From 'The Empire's Cricketers'.

William Yardley (1849-1900), who played first-class cricket for Kent 1868-78 and for Cambridge University 1869-72. In 1870 he scored the first century in the history of the University Match. Only WG Grace was reckoned a better batsmen among amateur players: when Yardley Grace were on the same side they used to have a small bet on who would record the higher score. Yardley was proud that in the Gentlemen v Players match at Lord's in 1871, he beat Grace's score in both innings.
