King William IV (1765-1837) when a prince. Prince William was sent into the Royal Navy at the age of thirteen, 'chiefly to prevent him from falling under the influence of his eldest brother, George' (Oxford DNB). He joined the (ironically named) 98-gun ship 'Prince George' in 1779 as a midshipman, an event commemorated here. After a portrait (c.1781) by Benjamin West, the American artist later to become President of the Royal Academy. The print was made by Francesco Bartolozzi and Paul Sandby, both printmakers with strong connections to the Hanoverian monarchy.

John Williams (1761-1818), English poet, satirist, jounalist and miscellaneous writer who worked under the pseudonym of Anthony Pasquin. As a satirical writer and illustrator he studied engraving under Matthew Darly and exhibited prints and drawings at the Society of Arts and the Royal Academy.

Dr Charles Godfrey Woide (1725-90) bust portrait, facing three-quarter to left, looking towards the viewer; base of column and drapery in background; in an oval. Woide was a Polish oriental scholar who from 1768 worked in the British Museum as a librarian. He was one of the first scholars to work on the Egyptian Sahidic texts.

Christ standing on a dais in the temple, his apostles around him, a man sitting on the steps near His feet; Christ raises His right hand and looks at a woman, who stands on the right with her hands bound, while Pharisees standing behind to right accuse her, one pointing at a passage in the Torah. After Agostino Carracci (1557 - 1602), intermediary draughtsman is Giles Hussey (1710 - 1788).

Admission ticket for the theatre; Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn (1749 - 1789), politician and patron of the arts, held summer performances at his estate at Wynnstay, in North Wales. Around a tree, two women standing either side, at left kneeling and holding out a ribbon inscribed 'As you like it'. In front a man seated on the floor holds out a sheet of paper upon which is written 'The Agreeable Surprise'; behind at left a black harlequin holds a stick labelled 'invasion', beside him 'Venice preserved' is draped across a branch. In the distance at right a windmill advertises the diversity of the programme with Farce, Pantomime, Tragedy and Comedy emblazoned on the sails.
