The actors Benjamin Griffin (1680 - 1740) and Benjamin Johnson (c.1665 - 1742) in Ben Jonson's 'The Alchemist'. One holds a bag of money, the other a book, in an interior with a globe at the left edge of the image. By Peter van Bleeck (c.1695 - 1764), Dutch portrait painter and mezzotinter born at The Hague, son of Richard van Bleeck. In London by 1723, where he married in 1745. This a fine impression from the Reiss collection, with his stamp on verso.
