A half-length portrait in oval of William Lloyd (1627-1717) who, as Bishop of Asaph in Wales, was one of the seven bishops who refused to have the Declaration of Indulgence read in their dioceses, were charged with publishing a seditious libel and sent to the Tower of London by James II. After the Glorious Revolution he was created bishop of Lichfield and Coventry in 1692 and bishop of Worcester in 1699.
