A scene from Robert Southey's epic poem, 'Roderick the Last of the Goths'. Having lived as a hermit in penitance for raping Florinda, Roderick, king of the Visigoths, returns to lead the armies of Spain against the Moors, here unseating and killing a Moorish leader.
