Scarce mezzotint. Sheet 710 x 430mm (28 x 17"). Trimmed to plate, top and bottom edges ragged, rendering publication line illegible. Messy at bottom.
Full length portrait of Sir Thomas Andrew Lumisden Strange (1756-1841) in judical robes. From 1789 to 1797 he was the sixth Chief Justice of Nova Scotia; in 1798 he was appointed Recorder of Fort St. George (Madras), becoming Chief Justice with the introduction of the Supreme Court two years later. An important Indian judge.
