Half-length portrait of historian Sir Paul Rycaut (1628-1700), in an oval on a pedestal, wearing long wig and cloak and with a coat of arms below. The portrait was the frontispiece to Rycaut's 'History of the Turkish Empire' (London, 1680), and his translation of Lorenzo Gracian's 'The Critick' (London, 1681).
