[John] June.
Printed for R. Sayer in Fleet Street [n.d., c.1760].
Engraving, pt 18th century watermark. 50 x 55mm (2 x 2¼"), with large margins.
A watch paper. Maria Gunning (bap.1732-1760), married the 6rh Earl of Coventry in 1752. A noted beauty, she died at 27, said to be caused by lead and mercury poisoning, absorbed from her makeup. As Sayer moved to Fleet Street in 1760 it seems likely this print was published to commemorate her early death. Designs in miniature for Watch-Cases.
