A full-length portrait of Henry Callender, Captain General of the Royal Blackheath Golf Club, wearing the ‘Field Marshal's' uniform of the club. The two golf clubs illustrated are said to be still in the possession of the Royal Blackheath Golf Club. This painting, by the famous portrait artist Lemuel Francis F Abbott (c.1760-1803) is one of the most famous golfing images.
