The skeleton of a horse, with the shadow of its body, probably from Hawkins' 'Artistic Anatomy of the Horse: A Brief Description of the Various Anatomical Structures Which may be Distinguished During Life Through the Skin'. Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (1807-94) was a sculptor renowned for his work on the world's first dinosaur sculptures in the Crystal Palace Park.
