The Rocks of Suffrage Period.

The Rocks of Suffrage Period.

SF [monogram]
[Saint Louis: Soule, Thomas & Winsor, 1872..]
Wood engraving. Image 160 x 150mm (6¼ x 5¾"). Paper brittle, edges cracked.
A woman returns home, where her husband sits, rocking a cradle while two children fight in the background and a bearded child bangs a drum. From 'Pen and Ink Sketches of Yale Notables' by ''Squills'' (Charles Holmes Goodman, 1844- 1927). The couple (and the bearded child) would obviously have been recognisable to their contemporaries.
