Engraved by Jan van Doetechum for 'Histoire de la navigation de Jean Hugues de Linschot Hollandois', Jan Huygen van Linschoten's account of the East Indies. Known as the ''Itinerio'', this work broke the Portuguese monopoly on the trade routes to the Far East.
