The Forum of Trajan, designed by Apollodorus of Damascus and built between 107-113, was the last imperial fora. The column stumps are those of the Basilica Ulpia; on left is the churche of S. Maria di Loreto and on the right the church of Nome di Maria.
The first state, before the plate number, issued unbound. From an early 19th century folder titled 'Roman Engravings. The Property of Major E.G.G. Rugdon[?]'.
