A view of the Port Elizabeth sent to England by Sir Rufane Shawe Donkin, a British officer, who settled in the Cape Colony, the Port is named for his late wife Elizabeth. Markham's Cove was also named for his wife whose maiden name was Markham, other prints for this series are dedicated to members of her family.
