Rare engraving with very fine hand-colouring, printed area 270 x 325mm (10½ x 12¾"). 'J. Whatman 1809' watermark'; trimmed inside platemark lower edge, large margins on 3 sides.
The Battle of Blenheim (13 August 1704), fought in Blindheim, Germany, in which Allied forces ensured the safety of Vienna from the Franco-Bavarian army. From a series of 'the victorious battle of the immortal prince John duke of Marlborough'. John Churchill, first duke of Marlborough, was one of the two Allied commanders.
