[Twelve scenes from 'Robinson Crusoe' by Daniel Defoe]
[Anon., c.1800]
Twelve etchings with hand-colouring, each approx. 85 x 95mm (3¼ x 3¾"). Each trimmed to image and text, and glued to two album sheets (six to a sheet).
One of the many sets of prints published depicting incidents from 'Robinson Crusoe' (1719), the first novel of Daniel Defoe. An immediate success, it remains Defoe's most popular work and has never been out of print. Samuel Johnson considered it one of only three books that readers would ever wish longer.
