Pair of landscapes by Johann Georg Wille (1715 - 1808), latterly known as Jean Georges Wille. He was born near Koenigsberg in Germany and came to Paris in 1736 where began etching genre pictures and landscapes from the northern schools to complement his practice as a portrait engraver. His studio became one of the most important printmaking centres. This sheet comes from a collected edition of his landscapes.
