On the extreme left is Richard Fleming, one of the founders, with behind him Thomas Beckington, John Forest, William Finderne and John Bucktot. Another founder, Thomas Rotherham, is amongst the group of the right. The engraver and antiquary George Vertue (1684-1756) succeeded Michael Burghers as engraver to Oxford University in 1727, a post which included the responsibility of engraving almanacks such as this.
