Hendrick De Keyser [1565 - 1629], sculptor and architect. In 1594 he became Amsterdam's municipal sculptor and architect, his most celebrated building being Holland's first Protestant church, Zuiderkerk. In sculpture, de Keyser was particularly talented as a portraitist but is remembered for the tomb of William the Silent in Delft. From the 'True Effigies Of the most Eminent Painters, and other Famous Artists That have Flourished in Europe' published in 1694 in Antwerp.
