Jane Palmer (1772 - 1812) as a young girl, sitting whole-length on the ground, with both arms around the neck of a spaniel. Daughter of Oldfield Bowles of Oxfordshire, she married Richard Palmer in 1791. The original painting, in the Wallace Collection, has also engraved by William Ward as 'Juvenile Amusement'.
