Sarah Egerton (1782-1847), actress. After an unsuccessful spell in Covent Garden, Egerton moved to the Surrey theatre where she played Madge Wildfire in Thomas Dibdin's 'The Heart of Midlothian, or , the Lily of St Leonard's' in 1819. This was one of several adaptations of Sir Walter Scott's novels in which she performed, which rescued her from obscurity.
