A view of the Bay of Tongue, located in northwest Highland, Scotland, in the western part of the former county of Sutherland. A number of figures can be seen on the shore of the bay, with a mountainous landscape in the distance. From William Daniell's 'A Voyage Round Great Britain', a series of 308 aquatints published in eight volumes between 1814-1825, described by R.V. Tooley as 'the most important colour plate book on British Topography'.
