The Bocca Tigris, a narrow strait in the Pearl River Delta, Guangdong, China, where the Pearl River discharges into the South China Sea. The strait is formed by the islands of Chuenpee and Anunghoy on the eastern side and Tycocktow on the western side. The city of Guangzhou (formerly Canton) is upstream. Showing vessels including a Chinese warship, identified by a key below the image. From the first French edition of "Collection de Cartes Geographiques, Vues, Marines, Plans et Portraits, relatifs aux Voyages du Capitaine J. Meares".
