The Mitre public house in Paddington, London, beside the Westbourne river, now underground. From Pickett's 1812 book of 'Ninety-Six Speciments of Cottages-Bridges-Castles-Churches [...] Intended to facilitate the Improvement of the Student, and to aid the Practitioner, in Landscape Composition'. Aside from its function as an educational volume, the scenes in the book also provide many unusual views of London in the early 19th century.
