A landscape with several small vessels and canoes on a lake, surrounded by steep, craggy mountains covered with trees. Three figures can be seen on the shore in the left foreground, where boats are putting in. John Webber was the official artist on Cook's final voyage through the Pacific; his drawings formed the basis for printed illustrations to the account of 'A Voyage to the Pacific', published in 1784.
