The Somali ostrich is found in eastern Africa, north of Ethiopia, across Somalia, to north-eastern Kenya. From "Animal Portraiture being Fifty Studies", by Wilhelm Kunhert (text by Richard Lydekker). Friedrich Wilhelm Kuhnert (1865-1926), the German painter, author and illustrator who specialised in animal images.
