The trial of Queen Caroline, Queen consort of George IV. Following allegations of adultery, Caroline was removed from the liturgy of the Church of England. However, the King's ministers did not agree to divorce, and instead entered into negotiations with Caroline. She rejected this offer and a trial began, which only increased public support for her.
