The main features of the Russian defences are clearly depicted, including the Redan, the Malakoff redoubt and the Mamelon, a fortified hillock, as are the Allied trenches and their sharpshooters. On the reverse of the sheet is the publisher's advert for prints relating to the Crimean War and and other general topography.
